About Melton Center

History of the Melton Center

Photo.
Thanks to the generosity of Mr. Samuel M. Melton, the Samuel M. Melton Center for Jewish Studies was established at The Ohio State University in 1976. Melton was one of the nation's foremost advocates and supporters of Jewish education. *He knew that the most important contribution he could make would be to institute a process in which learning could continue. The Melton Center realizes that goal of offering students the opportunity to become acquainted with the multi-faceted Jewish experience that forms the heart and soul of Judeo-Christian civilization.
