Professor Joseph Galron has played a central role in building and sustaining the Judaica collection as a major research resource at Ohio State. Through the library platform, Jewish Studies Librarian Professor Joseph Galron continues to expand this foundation through collection development and service to the academic community. This year, acquisitions focused on increasing digital holdings, particularly e-books, providing more immediate and flexible access for students and researchers. The library supports teaching and scholarship by fulfilling faculty and student requests and aligning resources with evolving academic needs.
Professor Galron is also serving as Acting Librarian for Middle Eastern Studies, strengthening connections across disciplines and supporting broader research initiatives. Marking 38 years at Ohio State, he remains deeply committed to scholarship, student success, and the development of Jewish Studies resources.
The library will also contribute to the Melton Center’s 50th anniversary programming, including a Special Collections-focused event that will highlight the library’s unique holdings and its ongoing role as both an academic and community resource.
