4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Stillman Hall 235

Join us for the next event in our Multi-ethnic Cultural Reproductions in the Middle East series. Aidah Aljuran’s research focuses on the Ismaʿili community, a minority group of Shiʿa Muslims living in a predominantly Sunni society in Saudi Arabia. Her work examines how practices of concealment and dissimulation operate in everyday life as social and linguistic practices, with particular attention to the central role of Saudi Ismaʿili women as caregivers and primary agents of cultural and epistemological transmission.
