This year's Feibel Lecture features University of California-Berkeley professors Ethan Katz (History) and Steven Davidoff Solomon (Law), who are co-directors of Berkeley's Antisemitism Education Initiative.
The increase of antisemitic incidents and expressions on college campuses continues to rise. While some believe expressions of antisemitism are ‘free speech,’ college and university administrators are concerned about not going afoul of the First Amendment, and antisemitic verbal attacks potentially leading to hate crimes.
Professors Katz and Solomon will discuss these issues and what Berkeley's Antisemitism Education Initiative does to promote antisemitism awareness and education.
The Pearl and Troy Feibel Lecture on Judaism and Law, now in its 32nd year, was created by their children, Barbara, Jim, Don, and Robert Shamansky. Co-sponsored with the Jewish Community Relations Committee of JewishColumbus.
