A fun little survey of American Yiddish Theatre's treatment of the bard. Hear about a King Lear who has a happy ending, an Othello who is a blind Jewish pianist, and a Hamlet with very nice legs! Enjoy what Jacob Gordin said was not just his "adaptation," but his "improvement" of Shakespeare's work! A conversation in equal parts amusing and, at times, insightful regarding the hopes, aims, and interests of an immigrant community.
