Featuring Dr. Ted Merwin
In this entertaining, interactive presentation, Dr. Ted Merwin, author of Pastrami on Rye: An Overstuffed History of the Jewish Deli will explore the heyday of the deli, the changing representation of Jewish-American delis in music, film and television and the evolution of delis today.
Ted Merwin, PhD, is the author of two books including In Their Own Image: New York Jews in Jazz Age Popular Culture (Rutgers University Press, 2006) and Pastrami on Rye: An Overstuffed History of the Jewish Delicatessen (NYU Press, 2015), which won the 2015 National Jewish Book Award.
There is a Pop-Up Kosher Deli Buffet Dinner at 5:30 PM presented by Harvey & Ed's restaurant, a Cameron Mitchell Restautant. The cost for dinner and the program is $36. The cost for the program only is $18 per person, and reservations are required for both.
