Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Congratulations to Robin Judd on Shapiro Senior Scholar Fellowship

Robin Judd, College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor of History, has been awarded the 2026–2027 J.B. and Maurice C. Shapiro Senior Scholar-in-Residence Fellowship at the Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) in Washington, DC. Her project, Gatekeepers of Memory: Military Chaplains and Jewish Artifacts After the Holocaust, is an innovative transnational history that examines how six Jewish military chaplains from the US, Britain, and Canada actively shaped the memory of the Holocaust by engaging with damaged synagogues and their artifacts across Europe. It tells a cross-cultural and multi-national history of identity, memory, and built environments during and after the Holocaust.
