Student Testimonial
David Catire-Thill is currently a PhD student in the Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts at The Ohio State University. David shared how the Melton Center for Jewish Studies has supported his academic and professional development in the first year of his PhD program:
“I have been very grateful for the Melton Center’s offerings during the first year of my PhD program. Without being here at Ohio State, I would not have been able to access the wide-ranging array of unique, informative, and enjoyable events and guests the center has hosted and co-hosted, including Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie, choreographer Dege Feder, and composer Lenka Lichtenberg, as well as the ongoing Multi-ethnic Cultural Reproductions in the Middle East series of discussions.
Winning second place in the Charlotte Susan Roth Memorial Fund Essay Contest was both a great honor and a tremendous line of support for me. It provides crucial financial resources that will help me advance my research, as well as recognition and encouragement to keep going—all of which are quite valuable at the beginning of graduate school.
